Before any long trip you take, you will want to have the tires inspected. This will help ensure the tires will be in the best condition when you drive. We can inspect each tire to ensure the air pressure is correct. The tread will also be inspected for the tires. It is also important to check the overall condition of each tire as well. If there is any damage, you will want to have it fixed and repaired before any long trips. Also be aware for any issue or anything out of the norm with your vehicle. This can result in further damage to the tires if it is not inspected. It will also have the chance of your tire blowing when you least expect it.
In the winter, you will want the tires to have the right amount of tread on them. The tread will help you to keep and maintain control of the vehicle on slick or icy roads. When the tread is low, you may notice the vehicle sliding or pulling in one direction. Even if one tire has the right amount of tread, it will not necessarily mean the other tires do as well. You can take a penny and place it upside down in the tread groove. Check to see if you can see the top of Lincoln’s head. If you can, then the tread is too low.
Also remember to check the spare tire of your car. You will need to use it when one of the regular tires goes out or is damaged. Remember if you drive on a spare tire, you will need to go at a slower speed. This is because the spare tire is smaller, so it cannot rotate as fast as the regular tires do. If you are not sure if the spare tire is in great condition, we can inspect it for you.
